Vans Sk8-Hi – Boys’ Grade School

Description

High Style
The Boys’ Grade School Vans Sk8-Hi is the youth sizing of the classic mid-top skate shoe. The Sk8-Hi is easily one of the most iconic skateboarding shoes of all time. Now in production for over 40 years and always in style, it’s also one of the most worn skate shoes ever — both on the board and as a fashionable sneaker on the streets. First produced in 1978, and originally named the Style 38, the Sk8-Hi was the second Vans model ever to feature the now-iconic wavy sidestripe, officially known as the “Jazz Stripe,” after the equally famous low-top Old Skool. The Sk8-Hi can be thought of as a high-top version of the low-profile Old Skool, designed with a higher cut to help protect the ankle area while skateboarding. What started as simply a functional design cue helped the silhouette become popular with the casual crowd just as much as skateboarders, and a new sneaker icon was born.

Always Versatile
The Vans Sk8-Hi has earned its place as one of the most popular skate shoes ever for its versatility. It can be a durable and protective performance skateboarding shoe, a high-fashion sneaker, a rockstar’s footwear of choice, and so much more. The clean and simple silhouette looks great with shorts or jeans, dressed up or down, with punk style or haute couture. The Sk8-Hi’s versatility also applies to the amount of materials, colors, and graphics that can be used to construct it. Traditionally in a blend of canvas and suede, the shoe has been featured in countless materials throughout the years, from premium leather, to bold graphic prints, to glitter-covered synthetic material. With so many possibilities, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect Vans Sk8-Hi to match your own style here at Foot Locker.
